Halloween Trail Mix Recipe

It is the perfect blend of peanut butter mixture: reese’s pieces candy, salty pretzels, peanuts and peanut butter chocolate chips.

What is a trail mix?

A trail mix is a snack mix that you can eat on a hike. So you might be wondering if a snack packed with candy and chocolate is also considered a trail mix, and the answer is yes! although a trail mix is normally packed with nuts and dried fruit, what makes it a trail mix is its ability to take it on a trail. if we follow that definition, we can definitely consider this fun treat a trail mix!

This salty snack mix was made to be enjoyed a halloween night while watching a scary movie, in a halloween party, or at any time during the spooky season, AKA halloween. It’s so much fun to make (and to eat!), and it’s one of those fun halloween recipes that you’ll be making every year on repeat.

Ingredients you’ll need for this easy Halloween snack mix

To make the ultimate halloween trail mix you’ll need only 5 ingredients:

  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Using the mini Reese’s peanut butter cups version helps keeping all of the ingredient’s size the same, but you can also use the bigger sized Peanut butter cups if you prefer
  • Reese’s mini pieces Peanut butter candy. These are the ones that come in a crunch shell: orange, yellow and brown colors. You can use any other crunch shell candy instead (like M&M’s), but I opted on the Reese’s to keep an autumnal vibe with the colors and the peanut butter flavor
  • Mini Pretzel twists. I used mini to keep all ingredient’s size similar, but feel free to use regular sized Pretzels
  • Peanuts. I used salted peanuts for a more sweet and salty feel
  • Peanut Butter chips. You can also substitute the peanut butter chips for regular milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips
